I began this work during the autumn equinox, and brought it to light during the following winter.
I chose a limited palette of black and white to reflect a balance of darkness and light.
I painted torn papers with various inks , and coated and fused them with wax medium.
My artistic intention was to recognize the part that darkness plays in our lives, not just in the cycles of nature, but in creativity and spiritual transformation.
